Before trying to develop positive self esteem, we have to understand that low self esteem usually stems from established mindset. If we want to improve our self confidence, we have to go deeper and take a fundamental approach and change this mindset.
Before going through the self esteem exercises, it is important to note that this is a fresh yet proven effective approach that tackles the source of low self esteem. These exercises may seem irrelvant to the building of self esteem. However, if you put away the usual way of reasoning and try them with persistence, you will find that the established mindset, which shapes your low self esteem, will start to shatter. You will then find it much easier to love yourself and feel good about yourself which are the fundations of healthy self esteem.
With that being said, here goes the three self esteem exercises:
1. Laughing
A lot of people find it extremely difficult at the beginning with this particular exercise. That's why you may want to pratice it in private. Simply start laughting with no reason and continue with this exercise until you feel something positive about yourself. Then you just do it again the next day and the next day. 2. Concentration
This next exercise requires a space where you have an unrestricted view away into the distance.
Choose a place where you feel relaxed, will not be disturbed, and which has a good panoramic view. Again, continue with this exercise long enough until you get a positive sense about yourself.
Pick a small object and look at it.
Pick a big object and look at it.
Pick an object that's near to you and look at it.
Pick an object that's far away from you and look at it.
Pick an interesting object and look at it.
When you look at these objects, do it with full concentration for 3 seconds or longer. You can pick different objects to look at each time you do this. Continue doing this until you feel positive, naturally, about yourself.
This exercise seems totally irrelevant to raising your self esteem, however, it's very deep reaching and powerful in shifting the existing energy field that associates with low self esteem.
3. Creative Visualization
This exercise requires you to imagine things and then do something with the things you see in your mind's eye.
First imagine a person other than you with very low self esteem. Get an image of this person. This person could be anyone, or someone you don't even know. The essence is to imagine a person, or a dummy if you cannot get a clear picture of a person, that has no self esteem.
Now, pay attention to the low self esteem in the person. Imagine this person standing in front of you. Next, make the created person towards you until it is imposed over your body. Keep it there for a moment and then move it back out in front of you.
Repeat this exercise many times until you notice something occur to you. You will feel something about youself. Then, make the created person disappear. Do the exercise again the next day.
Lastly, the above self esteem exercises may seem strange and have nothing to do with building self confidence. However, these exercises are not designed to seem rational. They are meant to break the established mindset upon which low self esteem builds.
Try these simple self esteem exercises, they will help you.
